Vittorio Sgarbi (2026): “Debora Di Lucca is one of the most interesting emerging artists on the national scene”….
…”In an article in Corriere della Sera this morning, Stefano Bucci described her work as belonging to the so-called ‘Arte Povera’ movement. And so ‘poor’ materials,
from wood to recycled glass, take on a new life but in a different direction, in a constant balance between functionality and aesthetics. Go and see her work.”….
and again:
“Arte Povera should not be interpreted as the use of poor materials. It is an art made up of ideas, of intellectually sophisticated personalities, which represents an ideology. It is conceptual art."
Vittorio Sgarbi (2022): “…Debora Di Lucca will have a way of giving us surprises
always looking for original and autonomous solutions…”
Josè Van Roy Dalì (2026): “....I really like Debora Di Lucca’s art!...”
Josè Van Roy Dalì (2022): “...Impossible to remain indifferent in the face of the riot of colors
and compositional originality, in a surreal cycle, imbued with that creative sense
and eternal aesthetic beautythat only through
the pictorial and sculptural Art of Debora Di Lucca is possible to receive.…”

Biography
In 2010, Debora Di Lucca decided to shift her creative focus from the world of advertising to an independent artistic career. Since then, she has been crafting sculptures, furniture pieces and exclusive jewellery for the luxury sector, forging a lasting link between Italy and the international scene. The value and originality of her work have attracted media attention: press agencies, national newspapers and leading magazines now describe her as the true ‘trait d’union’ between Art and Design. This in-depth exploration has enabled her to create a constant dialogue between materials and history, leading her to exhibit at Italy’s most prestigious exhibition and institutional venues.
Her exhibition career took off in 2019 with a group exhibition, followed in January 2020 by the success of her first solo exhibition in the heart of Milan. In October of the same year, the artist moved to Rome, exhibiting in the historic “Sala Protomoteca” in the Campidoglio, Rome. In July 2021, on the occasion of her exhibition at the historic F.A.I. heritage site "Rocca Colonna", Debora Di Lucca presented the citizens of Castelnuovo di Porto (Rome) with a painting depicting the Palazzo Ducale, which was handed over to the Mayor. Subsequently, invited by the Mayor to the Fondi International Art Biennale, she participated as the event’s patron and received the prestigious title of International Master of Art, exhibiting shortly afterwards at the “Arte Mediterranea” International Biennale in Pisa.
The debut of the renowned solo exhibition “Ars et Materia” took place in October 2021 in one of the world’s most exclusive archaeological settings: the Stadium of Domitian in Piazza Navona, Rome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Immediately afterwards, the exhibition was showcased in Rome at the European Parliament’s headquarters, within the Spazio Europa. In late October 2021, it will take part in the international exhibition “Premio Vittorio Sgarbi”, capturing the attention of the renowned critic, who in December will include it in the book “I Narratori del nostro tempo”, dedicating a personal written and video review to it.
Her critical perspective broadened in August 2022 following a personal invitation to the home of Maestro José Van Roy Dalí (son of Salvador Dalí), a meeting that gave rise to a deep artistic rapport. In March 2023, Vittorio Sgarbi brought Di Lucca to the attention of the general public on SKY networks and, in May of the same year, the artist organised the conference “Women in Art, between Finance and the Environment” in the Senate, where she received personal feedback from Maestro Dalì.
Deeply connected to the local area and committed to sustainability, following the storm that hit Milan in August 2023, Debora secured permission from the City Council to salvage the wood from the uprooted trees and transform it into works of art. The project came to fruition in July 2024 with the official exhibition of the work at the MuBAJ (Milan Botanical Museum), an institution linked to the Brera Academy, in collaboration with the Department of the Environment. In January 2024, her work was celebrated by Vittorio Sgarbi with an extensive feature on Sky Arte.
Among her most recent achievements, in May 2025 she exhibited at the “Sopra le Logge” gallery, the headquarters of Pisa City Council (which sponsored and attended the event), and was featured in the international yearbook Artisti ‘25 with a critical essay by Sandro Serradifalco; she was also invited to the official launch in Rome at the Chamber of Deputies.
In June 2026, the artist’s career reached a new milestone with a solo exhibition held in the prestigious institutional setting of the Medici Castle in Melegnano. The event, attended by the Mayor and the Councillor for Regional Marketing, featured the extraordinary participation of Maestro José Van Roy Dalì and Vittorio Sgarbi, for whom Di Lucca was the only artist to be visited during this historic period. The exhibition, whose works provided an exclusive and evocative backdrop to the rounds of the famous Miss Italia contest, was a resounding success with the public, the press and critics alike, crowned by an article penned by Stefano Bucci, a well-known cultural journalist for the Corriere della Sera.
To crown this significant moment and as a testament to her ongoing dialogue with the institutional world, the artist also donated her famous work “Ladra di cuori” to the institutions.
